Museum

Part of History and Heritage

In the market square of the medieval town of Radovljica, a house with the Lectar tradition has stood for more than five hundred years. In addition to a restaurant and a hotel, it also houses a museum of old Slovenian crafts. In this house, Jakob Krivic opened a lect workshop and gingerbread bakery in 1766. Even today, we continue to make traditional gingerbread. The most famous is in the shape of a red heart, but we also produce other shapes.

Museum and tour

Muzej v Gostilni Lectar

In the museum, you can see the original process of making this famous Slovenian product. The presentation of the process is certainly interesting, as it takes you back in time for a moment or two. In the workshop, you can also make your own “lect” gingerbread, but prior registration for the tour is required.

Today, gingerbread is a valuable tourist souvenir of our country and a wonderful promotional or corporate gift. Upon request, we can make a “lect” in any shape or size, in various colors, or with different inscriptions.
